Frequently asked questions
Is there a free plan?
Yes. RentFig's Free plan is free forever — unlimited properties, up to 2 tenancies, one portfolio, deposit management and bookkeeping. No trial, no expiry.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. Your trial starts without a payment method. You can explore full Business-tier features for a month, and only need to add a Direct Debit if you decide to continue on a paid plan.
What happens after the 1-month trial?
Choose a paid plan and set up Direct Debit, or do nothing and your account continues on the Free plan (unlimited properties, up to 2 tenancies) — you keep your data either way.
Does RentFig handle HMOs?
Yes. The Standard plan is built for HMO landlords and growing portfolios, with up to 30 tenancies, 10 portfolios, and full Rent Chaser automation.
Can my accountant use it?
Yes. Starter and above include an Accountant role so you can invite your accountant with the right level of access, and every report exports as PDF, CSV or Excel.
Does RentFig file my tax return for me?
No. RentFig keeps your figures HMRC-ready and maps them to the correct boxes — for example the SA105 property pages — so you or your accountant can copy them straight into your Self Assessment. It does not submit the return to HMRC on your behalf.
Is my data safe?
RentFig encrypts your data in transit and at rest, and offers optional MFA and row-level access controls so each account only ever sees its own records. Your data is stored in UK and EU data centres; some processing — the AI features and voice transcription — happens in the USA under Standard Contractual Clauses, and our Data Processing Agreement lists every sub-processor. You can export or delete your data at any time.
