What is RentFig?
RentFig is property management software for UK landlords who manage their own lets, especially self-managing and HMO landlords in England, from a single flat to a large portfolio. It keeps every tenancy in one app, from application links and referencing to rent tracking and chasing, gas, EPC and EICR reminders, bookkeeping mapped to SA105 and Making Tax Digital, through to the deposit return. It's free for up to 2 tenancies; paid plans start at £9 a month.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. RentFig's Free plan is free forever — unlimited properties, up to 2 tenancies, one portfolio, deposit management and bookkeeping. No trial, no expiry.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. Every account starts on the Free plan: up to 2 tenancies, no card and no expiry. If you want more, you can start a 30-day free trial of every Business feature from inside your account. A card or Direct Debit is needed to start the trial, and nothing is charged until it ends.
What happens when the 30-day trial ends?
Unless you cancel first, the trial moves onto the plan you chose and the first payment is taken. If you cancel before it ends, you pay nothing and your account stays on the Free plan (unlimited properties, up to 2 tenancies). You keep your data either way.
Does RentFig handle HMOs?
Yes. The Standard plan is built for HMO landlords and growing portfolios, with up to 30 tenancies, 10 portfolios, and full Rent Chaser automation.
Can my accountant use it?
Yes. Starter and above include an Accountant role so you can invite your accountant with the right level of access, plus the accounting reports, which export as PDF, CSV or Excel. Bank reconciliation and live bank feeds are on Standard and above.
Does RentFig file my tax return for me?
RentFig does not file your annual Self Assessment. It keeps your figures HMRC-ready and maps them to the correct boxes (for example the SA105 property pages). On eligible plans it can also send your Making Tax Digital quarterly updates to HMRC directly, after you confirm each one with two-factor authentication; you remain responsible for checking the figures before they are sent.
Is my data safe?
RentFig encrypts your data in transit and at rest, and offers optional MFA and row-level access controls so each account only ever sees its own records. Your data is stored in UK and EU data centres; some processing — the AI features, voice transcription, WhatsApp messages and analytics on our public marketing pages — happens in the USA under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and our Data Processing Agreement lists every sub-processor. You can export or delete your data at any time.
